Film & Moving Image

These films came before the maps, and they're part of why the maps exist. The Primordial Powers series started as a direct inquiry into embodiment and elemental relationship. Filming, curating the music, moving through physical landscapes — that process built the perceptual foundation that my counter-cartographic methodology eventually grew from. The body holding the camera was already doing cartographic work. It took a few years to name it that way.

"Never Eat From a Fire You Haven't Fed" is where that thread continues. The documentary is currently in post-production.

A solo desert fire practice. A question about what it means to tend something over time. This film follows one practitioner into the Sonoran Desert to sit with a fire she built herself, fed herself, and stayed with through the night.

It's a film about reciprocity. About the agreement you make with a place when you ask it to hold you. About what liberation looks like when it isn't announced, when it's just a body and a fire and the knowledge of how to keep both alive.

‘Ix (2020)

‘Ix is a visualizer that depicts the transformation into wholeness of a two-spirited being. The gentle overtones of gestating in the womb, transports the audience to the primordial space where this cohesive merge takes place. This is a film about returning to the original intention of being-ness. Free from the separation and fragmentation that labels create.
